Carignano del Sulcis Is Arenas 2017 Sardus Pater
In the Sardinian dialect "is arenas" means sands, indicating the sandy nature that distinguishes the soils of Sulcis and in particular of the island of Sant’Antioco.
ALCOHOL CONTENT 15%
Vineyard located on the island of Sant'Antioco.
PROCESSING AND AGING
The grapes are destemmed-crushed and the must left to ferment with the marc in stainless steel containers for fifteen days; after racking, fermentation continues, again in steel. Once fermentation is complete, Is Arenas ages in Alliers oak barriques for ten months, during which time there is also malolactic fermentation; this phase is followed by refinement in the bottle for six months.
Color: intense and impenetrable ruby red, tinged with warm garnet reflections.
Bouquet: sensations of fruit such as plum, berries, undergrowth and spicy nuances of vanilla.
Taste: structured and flowing, soft, good flavor, freshness and elegant tannins.
Excellent a structured aperitif, to be accompanied by flakes of Pecorino Sardo. At the table it accompanies important first courses, perhaps with full-bodied sauces.
