Cannonau D53 was created in 2013 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the winery, which was founded in 1953.
GRAPES Cannonau
GRADATION 15%
ORIGIN
Vineyards owned by the Winery, located in the hilly area of Dorgali at 450 meters above sea level, trained as saplings and spurred cordons.
PROCESSING
The harvest begins with destemming and crushing, followed by maceration of the marc in the must in truncated cone-shaped wooden barrels for 20 days. Once fermentation is also complete, malolactic fermentation takes place in oak tonneaux. Maturation follows, again in tonneaux for about 12 months in large oak barrels for another 12 months; the circle is completed by refinement in the bottle.
CHARACTERISTICS
Color: ruby red with garnet highlights
Aroma: hints of ripe red fruit, such as blueberries and plums, intense spices such as nutmeg and cloves.
Taste: In the mouth it is warm and full-bodied, with great softness, balance and persistence.
COMBINATIONS
D53 is a red wine that we recommend you try with the great meat dishes of the Sardinian tradition, such as stewed lamb or wild boar with cannonau.
