GRAPES Cannonau
ALCOHOL CONTENT 14.5%
ORIGIN
Vineyards grown as saplings, using organic farming methods, at an altitude of approximately 700 metres above sea level on granite disintegration soils in the Loreta Attesu area, Mamoiada (NU).
PROCESSING
Manual harvest of the grapes, which are selected and subjected to destemming and crushing in the cellar. The must is then left in contact with the skins for a long time to macerate, at the same time the alcoholic fermentation takes place. The wine is matured in wooden barrels, and refined in the bottle before being marketed.
CHARACTERISTICS
Color: Intense ruby red with garnet reflections.
Aroma: It has a long bouquet, with particular finesse, with a hint of morello cherry typical of the area of origin.
Taste: Full-bodied, velvety, fresh and long-lasting.
COMBINATIONS
Mamuthone Puggioni is a structured red wine that pairs well with meat-based second courses, such as roast kid with myrtle aroma, and with mature cheeses such as Sardinian pecorino.
