GRAPES Vermentino
ALCOHOL CONTENT 14.5%
ORIGIN
The winery's vineyards are located in the north-east of Sardinia, in the Vena di San Leonardo, among the hills of Alta Gallura.
PROCESSING
Grapes are harvested manually and then soft pressed in the cellar to obtain the free-run must. This is then fermented in stainless steel containers at a controlled temperature. Jankara then ages in stainless steel containers for six months, before the final refinement for another two months in the bottle.
CHARACTERISTICS
Color: Straw yellow with greenish reflections.
Aroma: Soft, balanced with an almond aftertaste.
Taste: Intense and persistent notes of Sardinian mandarin and white almond flowers.
COMBINATIONS
Vermentino Jankara is a perfect white wine as an aperitif, to accompany traditional Sardinian cured meats. A perfect white to pair with structured seafood appetizers such as octopus salad or dogfish in burrida, but also seafood first courses and baked and roasted fish.
