Cannonau recounting 70 years of Sardinian history
Warm, full-bodied, with the depth of a wine born to last.
Born in 2013 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Cantina di Dorgali, founded in 1953, D53 is not just a wine: it is a tribute to decades of winemaking passion in the heart of Sardinia. Today, with international accolades and an increasingly defined character, it has become one of the most beloved red wines by enthusiasts of authentic Cannonau.
On the nose, it is an explosion of blueberries, ripe plums, nutmeg, and cloves. On the palate, it is warm, full-bodied, soft, with a balance and persistence that speak of well-tended vineyards and unhurried aging.
This wine is for you if:
- You love great Italian red wines with structure and complexity
- You are looking for an authentic Cannonau, far from commercial versions
- You want a wine capable of complementing the most important traditional Sardinian dishes
Why D53 is different:
One of the winery's longest aging processes: 20 days of maceration in truncated conical wooden vats, malolactic fermentation in oak tonneaux, then another 12 months in tonneaux and another 12 months in large oak barrels. Only then is it bottled. The result is a wine of great softness, where the time invested can be felt in every sip.
