The Story of Biriai:

The name Biriai derives from the ancient Nuragic village located on a hill with a plateau, "Sa Sedda" (the saddle). This archaeological complex bears witness to two cultural phases: the pre-Nuragic Monte Claro period (2200-2000 BC) and the Nuragic-Roman period. Excavations in 1979 revealed residential structures and a group of twelve menhirs, a symbol of the ancient civilization that inhabited these territories.
