The name is a tribute to Don Efisio Carta, noble member of an important family, owner of the Cabras pond (clear reference to the marsh shoots represented on the label). On 16 November 1978 Don Efisio was kidnapped in the splendid seaside resort of Turr'e Seu, in Sinis, and never returned home, despite the payment of a ransom.

This is then followed by aging for approximately one year in exhausted oak barrels and concrete tanks, before final refinement in the bottle.
